Emma Lazzeri


Dr. Emma Lazzeri was born in La Spezia, Italy, in 1981. She received the BS and MS (cum laude) in Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Pisa, Pisa, Italy, in July 2004 and in December 2006, respectively and the PhD (cum laude) in Innovative Technologies from Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna in 2013. She joined TeCIP in 2007 and she is currently a research fellow of Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna. She was a visitor researcher at the NICT (Tokyo, Japan) in 2008 and 2009 and in 2009 she spent a four months period at the INRS (Montreal, Canada) thanks to a merit scholarship funded by the “Fonds québécois de la recherche sur la nature et les technologies”. She is the project coordinator of PARENT (Photonic Assisted Radar for Environment moNitoring enabling disasTer prevention and risk assessment), a project that is funded by the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna thanks to the italian pre-tax donation which is donated by taxpayer to nonprofit organizations and projects that have a high societal impact. She is co-author of more than 30 publications in international peer reviewd scientific journals and conferences, two book chapters and she holds three patents in the photonics field. Her research interest span from the all-optical signal processing to the microwave photonics.
